More Information 2025 Impact Statement With your support, The Beehive Alliance raised $170,000 for Children's mental health. This year we split our donation between The Nationwide Children's Behavioral Health Pavilion and the Kids Mental Health Foundation. With your help, we funded the following programs. Nationwide Children's Clinical Training Program Ohio's children are facing a mental health crisis, with most kids receiving no care at all and families struggling to access support due to long waitlists and a shortage of specialized providers. Nationwide Children's Behavioral Health Pavilion is solving this by expanding who can deliver high-quality care. Using an innovative digital training platform developed at Harvard, the program trains Bachelor's-level providers to deliver simple, evidence-based interventions for childhood depression and anxiety directly in primary care, bringing effective treatment closer to where families already are. At the same time, the Pavilion is strengthening the long-term mental health workforce by supporting entry-level specialists and nurses as they advance their education. Because psychiatric training is rare in traditional programs, this "grow our own" pipeline ensures more skilled providers, better retention, and sustainable staffing for Ohio's future. The Beehive Alliance's support helps make this transformative, scalable model possible, expanding access and delivering faster, more convenient care to the kids who need it most. Good Noodle X Kids Mental Health Foundation Season 3 The Kids Mental Health Foundation and GoNoodle have joined forces to spark meaningful conversations about emotions and mental wellness for millions of children, parents, and educators across the country. GoNoodle's interactive movement and mindfulness videos, beloved by over 14 million monthly users, make learning about emotional regulation and "big feelings" fun, accessible, and engaging. Together, they've already created bilingual videos and companion resources that help kids build lifelong tools for understanding and managing their emotions, both in the classroom and at home. The Beehive has used these videos in our own Safety Town programming. Now, we're expanding this impact with Season 3 of the series-an ambitious new chapter that our funding will help produce, animate, and distribute. Our new co-branded content will reach even more families nationwide, blending movement, creativity, and mental health education in a way kids truly love. This program not only aligns with classroom learning goals but also strengthens family well-being and emotional resilience at home. We're excited to be part of this transformative initiative that will have national reach. What else did we do in 2025? The Beehive was busy creating a buzz around pediatric and adolescent behavioral and mental health this year! Back To School Backpacks Having what you need for school improves a child's mental health. Partnership With Safety Town We partnered with Safety Town to being mental wellness tools to hundreds of children entering kindergarten. 2024 Impact Statement With your support, The Beehive Alliance raised $160,000 for Children's mental health. This year we split our donation between The Nationwide Children's Behavioral Health Pavilion and the Kids Mental Health Foundation. With your help, we funded the following programs. Safe Mind App Suicide is the second leading cause of death among adolescents aged 10-24 in the United States. Preliminary research indicates that many of these youth engage online about suicide and often use the internet and online communities to explore methods. However, existing parental control apps do not specifically address suicide prevention. The Safe Mind app is a keyboard tool that allows parents and caregivers to install it on their child's phone to monitor keystrokes for suicide-related terms. If any such keystrokes are detected, the content will be blocked, and parents will be notified along with other selected contacts, such as a therapist or school counselor. Additionally, the app will connect them to support resources. The team aims to expand this technology into a desktop plugin. Support from the Beehive Alliance funds the development of the Safe Mind app’s proof of concept, as well as its testing and refinement. The Kids Mental Health Foundation + YMI Mental Health Program for Classrooms Studies show that greater mindfulness correlates significantly with better academic achievement such as grade point average, standardized tests, improved academic performance, better attendance, and fewer suspensions. In partnership with Young Minds Inspired (YMI) and support from The Christina and Ryan Day Fund for Pediatric and Adolescent Mental Wellness, The Kids Mental Health Foundation has created an educational program centered on Breaking Stigmas and Emotional Empowerment for children ages 6-14, in both English and Spanish. This program and promotes mental health and well-being, while helping kids develop The Kids Mental Health Foundation coping strategies with a focus on emotions, healthy habits, gratitude, kindness, happiness, school and social skills. Every YMI program is developed by curriculum experts and reviewed by members the Educator Advisory Board, a blue-ribbon panel of active teachers who ensure that the programs align with academic standards and meet practical classroom needs. Funding from the Beehive Alliance allows The Kids Mental Health Foundation/YMI to create, produce and deliver physical materials to 50,000 classrooms and digital materials to 40,000 teachers. Back to School Mental Health Fair We hosted our fourth FREE back-to-school mental health fair with Seeds of Caring. We provided school-aged children with mental health tools to carry with them through the school year. 2023 Impact Statement With your support, The Beehive Alliance raised $150,000 for Children's mental health. This year we split out donation between The Nationwide Children's Behavioral Health Pavilion and their national On Our Sleeves program. $100,000 - The Behavioral Health Mobile Response Unit: The Psychiatric Crisis Department (PCD) has been a crucial place for families to go when their children have had a mental health crisis. From the time the PCD opened in 2020 to the first part of 2022, the PCD volume increased by 44%. Families are already calling when they are in crisis and in some cases, an in-person response can provide the help needed to stabilize the crisis and help a family avoid presenting to the PCD, reserving resources for the patients who are most likely to need hospitalization. One initiative Nationwide Children’s has embarked on is establishing the Mobile Response and Stabilization Service (MRSS). This program includes screening and triage via a crisis line; then provides a mobile response and de-escalation services including interventions; and finally, establishes an individualized stabilization plan. The overall goals for MRSS is to build skills, achieve family goals, counsel on crisis prevention techniques and environmental safety, and avoid psychiatric admission. Our donation allows for additional staff trained in de-escalation techniques as well as additional transportation resources. $50,000 - On Our Sleeves Mental Wellness Teacher Kits Subscription Boxes: This program is currently in the pilot phase and is being utilized by 500 classrooms across the U.S. The Mental Wellness Teacher Kits are provided to classrooms every month with various topics to help educate teachers on children’s mental health and teach everyday mental health and wellness skills. Each kit contains a guide for teachers on each month’s mental wellness topic and its relation to the school year; a student activity, including supplements to ensure activity success; Parent Tips to send to parents to continue mental wellness strategies beyond the classroom, and a teacher appreciation gift. Each kit also includes a QR code for teachers to scan and provide feedback on that month’s kit, to share what’s working and what could be improved, and to help guide future versions of the kits. The target population for these kits is first through fifth-grade teachers, their students, and the students’ parents or caregivers. Their goal is to reach children in a space that’s familiar and comfortable to them, that encourages them to be open and share their feelings, and provides them the tools they need to understand their feelings, and what they can do to improve their mental health and cope with challenges they may experience. The gift from the Beehive Alliance will send a year-long subscription to 100 classrooms. What else did we do in 2023? Our donation will support a Primary Care Clinician pilot program created by the experts at the Nationwide Children's Behavioral Health Pavilion and On Our Sleeves. The goal of this program is to develop and provide resources that primary care clinicians can use to start important conversations and give valuable tools to families on how to support the mental health of their children. The program will create and give resources that facilitate the conversation and goal-setting between the clinician and the families. Additionally, they will conduct impact surveys to understand if the materials are being utilized and beneficial and receive feedback from clinicians and families on what resources could be helpful in the future.
