Try your luck at the tables, hear from expert Dr. Eric Butter PHD, dance the night away with SWAG, bid on incredible auction packages, enter to win amazing raffles, and enjoy a night out with friends, all while making a meaningful impact for children’s mental health.

Get ready to go all in for children’s mental health! This year, A Night in the Hive, presented by King Law Group, is bringing Casino Night to the Athletic Club of Columbus.

Try your luck at multiple casino tables throughout the night, playing your favorite games and competing for bragging rights. No cash or prizes are awarded for casino play, so the fun is all about a little friendly competition!

When you’re not at the tables, enjoy the live music from SWAG, grab a drink, and check out an incredible lineup of raffle and auction packages. Whether you’re a casino regular or have no idea how to play, there will be plenty to enjoy throughout the night. Don't miss our incredible speaker, Dr. Eric Butter PHD, as he gives us an inside look at what's happening with children's mental health in our community.

Eric M. Butter, PhD, serves as Chief of the Division of Psychology in the Department of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, Chief of the Section of Psychology at Nationwide Children's and Director of Nationwide Children's Hospital's Child Development Center. Dr. Butter is a founding faculty member of Nationwide Children's Child Development Center: an interdisciplinary program offering multiple medical subspecialties including psychology; social work; marriage and family therapy; speech and language therapy; and genetics counseling.

He obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Child Clinical and Community Psychology. His graduate school studies included a broad child clinical background with training in coping and adjustment, prevention, and childhood aggression. In 1999, Dr. Butter completed a pre-doctoral internship in Pediatric Psychology and a post-doctoral fellowship in Pediatric Psychology and Developmental Disabilities in Columbus before moving into clinical research activities in neurodevelopmental disabilities and autism in collaboration with The Ohio State University Nisonger Center.

His research has focused on the bio-medical correlates and potential etiologies of autism spectrum disorders and ADHD as well as psychological and medical treatment of these disorders. He is currently the PI for several medical network grants and federally funded research studies focusing on pediatrics.

What is the dress code:

Think cocktail attire with a little touch of Vegas! Dresses, jumpsuits, suits, and sport coats are all welcome. Feel free to lean into the Casino Night theme with a little extra sparkle, but no themed attire is required. Come dressed for a fun Friday night out in the Hive!

What do we win at the tables?

Bragging rights! Our casino tables are just for fun, so chips have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for prizes. Play as much as you'd like, compete with your friends, and see who ends the night on top! If you're looking to take something home, be sure to check out our amazing raffle and auction packages throughout the night.

Where do we park?

Valet parking will be available for $15 at the Athletic Club of Columbus. Additional parking is also available in nearby garages and lots. We’ll share any additional parking details with guests closer to the event.

Will liquor be available for purchase?

Yes! A cash bar will be available throughout the evening. Please note that the Athletic Club of Columbus has historically required cash for liquor purchases, so we recommend bringing cash with you.
